Facebook is a funny animal…
People voluntarily submit their private details, telephone numbers, addresses (electronic and home) to a company whose Terms and Conditions actually say they will use them with “trusted companies”. Just who these companies are is never said but simple google searches will yield results with connections to the CIA, NSA and DHS in the United States security industry. Hardly suprising when one considers the amount of data input to Facebook. One has to be tremendously naive to assume that this data is NOT being stored or used in some way.
Facial recognition software and tagging
There are millions of photos on Facebook which have been “tagged” with names. Again Facebook admits that they use “facial recognition software” (much the same as the authorities do) to “help” you tag individuals? Many of these photos are taken on cell or mobile ‘phones by people that don’t realise that the meta-data of the photo contains GPS co-ordinates, pinpointing EXACTLY where the phone/person was.
Again, one of Facebook’s features is that you may add locations to your photo and status thereby pinpointing where you were and with whom at a given time.
I see these as security issues with the potential for abuse especially when I read in the media things like “The Federal Reserve Plans To Identify “Key Bloggers” And Monitor Billions Of Conversations”. (Two links [ 1 ] and [ 2 ]).It must be borne in mind that the Federal Reserve is a PRIVATE BANKING CARTEL who have NO right to information gathered. It is my opinion also that the authorities also have no right to this freely volunteered information (unless of course we live in a tyrannical system?).
And let us not forget PRISM. PRISM is a clandestine surveillance program under which the United States National Security Agency (NSA) collects Internet communications from at least nine major US Internet companies. Since 2001 the United States government has increased its scope for such surveillance so now they monitor everything.
Bye bye basic civil liberties hello New World Order. Seems to me that George Orwell wrote a book about this?
