The Buddha – Molino del Cura restaurant
I like 3D work…
but I don’t often get the chance to do it commercially. The case of the Buddha came about when decorating a Thai restaurant in Mijas Pueblo, Costa del Sol. I heard the owner complaining that he couldn’t get a big bronze Buddha from Thailand in time for the inauguration of the restaurant. I offered to build him one… he accepted.

It was built of plaster on an armature and then finished with a faux bronze patina. The faces of the Thai workers in the restaurant lit up and, I have to admit, I was blown away when they started praying and decorating Buddha’s space.

The Jardimals project
Garden furniture with a difference.
Snail

The idea was to create garden furniture at affordable prices that were a bit out of the norm. Sculpture as furniture.

It was also decided that the furniture should be as modular as possible so that the parts could be interchanged thereby giving the purchaser more options.

The “feet” of the bench are all 38cm high. The idea is that the feet should be interchangeable thereby allowing the client to make their own choice of feet. The bench seats will be in a few styles as well.
Hedgehog

The hedgehog former. Again this 3D work height is 38cm to enable the choice between the bench feet.

JARDIMALS is the place to see these. It’s far more up to date. I wish I had the time to do a quarter of the projects I have in mind.
The frog feet for the Jardimals benches under construction, the finished frog will appear here soon. Again 38cm high and interchangeable with the other two animals.

The strawberry sculpture

This strawberry is carved from mulberry wood and finished with shellac. This 3D work is about life size.
