gouache and ink poster

Posters are a way of communicating or selling something. Think of all those billboards you have seen.

This was an A3 poster for an Arklow, Co. Wicklow band that recently disbanded after 20+ years. Produced quickly in gouache and ink, this poster eventually gave way to the A2 version that can be found here on the graphic communication page of my site. These two posters, and the others that were designed for Irish bands, have a space left for the inclusion of the date and venue of the gig.

Produced in the days before computers, all lettering had to be done by hand or with a product called Letraset, a dry transfer system of lettering that was pretty much the industry standard of its time.
